Holtville Unified School District is slated to begin classes this 21st of August. Holtville Middle School principal Fawn Nielsen urges students to begin to re-accommodate into their routines.
“We want students to begin getting used to a healthy study and sleep schedule in tandem with the beginning of the new school year,” said Principal Nielsen.
Holtville Middle School’s staff also suggests students include a 20-30 minute daily refresher course, including reading and mathematics. According to the staff, measures like these will undoubtedly ease students into readjustment at the beginning of the year.
In terms of registration for new and returning students, 6th graders will be registered Monday, August 14th, 7th graders on Tuesday, August 15th, and 8th graders on Wednesday, August 16th. Registration times for these dates are 8:00 am 12:00 pm/ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm on all three days. Additionally, HMS will offer a Back to School Orientation on Wednesday, August 16th at 5:30 pm in the HMS cafeteria.
HMS will also count with four new teachers in their roster, among them a new special education teacher. Principal Nielsen added that nine staff members of HMS attended several training courses over the course of the summer
