Students To Perform Gulliver’s Travels

Local students will be staging two performances of Gulliver’s Travels in Holtville this weekend, in conjunction with the Missoula Children’s Theater.

Two performances are scheduled, one at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening and the other at 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Both shows will take place in the Finley Elementary School auditorium.

The play will showcase the talents of young Holtville actors from the Freedom Academy of Imperial Valley and the Holtville Unified School District’s GATE program. Auditions were held earlier this week, with rehearsals taking place daily in preparation for the big events.

The Missoula Children’s Theater has 28 teams that travel the country, helping stage plays in communities with local students performing all the parts. A team is usually made up of two members who stay with local families and hold auditions, give tips during practice and help organize the events.
