The Holtville Takedown Club made an awesome showing at last Sunday’s third open tournament of the SDIKWA season.  This tournament was held at Calexico High School, and HTC had 33 wrestlers competing in the various weight classes and divisions.

In the Rookie division, Dion Johnston, Blaze Vessey, and Michael Trujillo were all champions of their weight classes.  2nd place finishes went to Landon Kellum and Sebastian Duarte.  Brian Strahm and Seth Iten had 3rd place finishes.  Coming in 4th in their weight classes were Gannon Strahm, Jackson Irungaray, and Elah Castro.

Wrestling in the Bantam Division, Bryan Predmore, Isaac Tabarez, Payton Iten, and Christopher Montes reigned over their weight classes.  Coming in 2nd were Joshua Armenta, Dominic Arroyo, and Alexandro Arroyo.  Joshua Enriquez placed 3rd and Zephan Duarte finished 4th.

In the Intermediate division, Abraham Ramos, Donovan Johnston, Giovanni Tabarez, Emil Shaffner, Norberto Irungaray, Ryder Merten, David Moreno, Julian Martinez, and Erik Castro all placed 4th in the weight classes.

Richie Garcia won his weight class in the Novice division, and Ethan Strahm placed 3rd.

Schoolboy Jimmy Zarate placed 1st and Adam Montes took 5th in the weight classes.

The club will compete in the Mid Season Championships this Sunday in San Diego.
