Holtville Police Briefs: March 23-29

HOLTVILLE — The following reports were collected from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office call logs for the Holtville substation from March 23 through March 29.

TUESDAY, MARCH 23

8:48 a.m.: A resident of West Olive Avenue called police and requested to speak to a deputy regarding ongoing problems with a neighbor leaving dirty water in front of his door.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24

1:14 p.m.: A Holtville resident called the Sheriff’s Department to report receiving harassing phone calls from a male subject trying to take her money.

THURSDAY, MARCH 25

9 a.m.: A resident of West Ninth Street reported that an unknown female subject wearing a black jacket, gray pants and a pink mask was roaming around in the area and looking at a vacant lot.

10:20 a.m.: An Imperial Irrigation District employee called deputies to report spotting a vehicle at a residence in Holtville that was trying to replicate an IID vehicle using a stick-on magnet. The caller advised deputies that the IID doesn’t use magnets and that they believed the vehicle in question had been involved in a chase with the U.S. Border Patrol over the weekend.

11:52 a.m.: A Holtville resident called the Sheriff’s Department to complain about a neighbor washing cars in the street and leaving puddles. Deputies were unable to locate anybody washing cars in the area.

1:59 p.m.: The Sheriff’s Department received a report of a subject riding a dirt bike through the field at Holtville Middle School. Deputies were unable to locate the rider and discovered no damages to the field.

5:49 p.m.: A Circle Drive resident called 911 to report smoke inside her home. The resident was advised to wait outside for the Fire Department. Firefighters found and extinguished a small kitchen fire.
